CASA ES LLORER

Located in Campos, this house is conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Mallorcan architecture, organised around five independent volumes articulated around a central courtyard. The proposal establishes a constant dialogue with the landscape, defining a way of living closely connected to the territory and the climate.

The two main volumes structure the domestic programme: a ground-floor body with generous height accommodates the day area—kitchen, dining, and living—in an open, continuous space; while a second volume, developed over two levels, houses the bedrooms and service areas. Both are connected through the entrance, resolved with large glazed openings that bring in natural light and establish a direct relationship with the inner courtyard, centred around a holm oak.

The materiality reinforces this sense of rootedness, with the use of Santanyí stone with cement joints on the exterior walls, evoking traditional construction through a contemporary lens. At the entrance, an existing olive tree welcomes visitors, while the ensemble unfolds across a series of stepped terraces defined by dry-stone walls, reinterpreting the “marjades” of the Serra de Tramuntana.

The project is completed with auxiliary volumes —the pool porch and the garage— that reinforce the overall composition. The pool, conceived as an overflowing mirror, integrates into this constructed landscape, shaping a system of outdoor spaces that become essential to the daily life of the home.

Inside, the project maintains a clear coherence with the architecture, defining generous and well-structured spaces where natural light and materiality take centre stage. The main ground-floor volume is conceived as a large open space that integrates the kitchen, dining and living areas beneath a high ceiling with exposed beams, reinforcing a sense of openness and continuity.

The fireplace, positioned at the centre, acts as an articulating element, subtly separating the different areas without interrupting spatial flow. Large openings maintain a constant connection with the exterior and the central courtyard, allowing light to move through the space and highlight textures and materials.

In transitional spaces, such as the staircase, the project adopts light and precise solutions, with wooden treads and glass balustrades that bring transparency and visual continuity. Integrated lighting accompanies the circulation, creating a warm, carefully detailed atmosphere.

The more intimate areas, such as the bedrooms and bathrooms, maintain the same material language at a more contained scale. The use of neutral tones, wood, and mineral surfaces creates serene and balanced environments, where light and texture define the space. The result is an interior that functions as a natural extension of the architecture—coherent, timeless, and deeply connected to its setting.
