About me

Jaume Juan Calvo

Manacor, 1980

I studied Art Baccalaureate at the Mossèn Alcover Institute in Manacor.
Diploma in Interior Design and Higher Technician in Furniture Design from the Palma School of Design.
I completed a course in architectural visualization at Espai School in Barcelona, focused on 3D modelling and rendering.

Through my training, I have always maintained a close relationship with art.

Before starting out on my own, I had the opportunity to work in other studios: architecture, interior design and visual communication. The professionals I worked with in these places provided me with a large part of the knowledge I have today.

I worked as an interior design lecturer at EDIB School in Palma for two years, which allowed me to deepen my understanding of the pedagogy of space and further develop my professional growth.

My main interests are painting, photography, architecture, music, volleyball and hiking with my family.

How I understand interior design

For me, designing an interior means transforming intuition into reality: optimizing, organizing and giving meaning to spaces so they make us feel good.

Talking about new-build projects, I believe a new space has the potential to be discovered.
Talking about renovations, I believe an existing space has a history that must be respected.

Understanding light, materials, movement, proportion, and the relationship between people and their environment.
It’s about achieving a natural flow: where beauty is the result of well-considered functionality.

Minimalism is a central idea in my way of working: reducing space to the essential so that light, materials and proportions can express themselves clearly.

I approach each project through listening and attention to detail, combining technical expertise with artistic sensitivity.
I am guided by a clear vision: to create honest, enduring spaces that are coherent with those who inhabit them and with the place in which they exist.

In my projects, light defines the space; volumes organize it; movement brings it to life.
Natural materials and balanced tones provide warmth and coherence.
Design’s role is to make all of this work in service of well-being.
