Architecture, landscape and interior space: a unified vision.
Located on rural land in the municipality of Manacor, House JM is conceived with a clear intention of integrating into the landscape, combining clean volumes with stone walls and whitewashed surfaces. The architecture is organised through a serene composition that dialogues with the open surroundings, naturally structuring the outdoor spaces. The pool, conceived as a horizontal plane of water, accompanies the ensemble without imposing itself, while access points and porches define a gradual transition between exterior and interior, reinforcing a way of living closely tied to place and climate.
Inside, the project unfolds through generous, continuous spaces where natural light structures the experience. The day area is conceived as a single open-plan environment that integrates kitchen, dining, and living spaces beneath a roof with exposed timber beams, bringing rhythm and warmth. The kitchen, organised around a large central island, becomes the functional and visual core of the space, establishing a direct connection with the exterior through large openings that dissolve the boundaries between inside and outside.
The most distinctive elements lend identity to the whole, such as the staircase with cantilevered treads, which introduces lightness and visual continuity. In the main suite, the bed is positioned at the centre of the room, while a volumetric headboard integrates the wardrobe and creates a dressing area at the rear, organising the space with clarity. The bathrooms, resolved with wooden furniture with live edges and mineral materials, reinforce a serene and balanced atmosphere, consolidating an interior that is coherent with the architecture and deeply connected to materiality and light.
